Direct Asia
Car insurance claim repairs

Have a DirectAsia-insured car that needs accident repairs? Our Yishun team helps organise the repair information and works with authorised workshops on the claim-repair and submission process. Start with your policy schedule: your workshop entitlement and claim type determine the next step.

Independent repair coordination: we work with authorised workshops. We are not presenting ourselves as a directly appointed Direct Asia workshop. All claims remain subject to insurer approval and your policy terms.

01 / The right repair route

Check your DirectAsia workshop entitlement first

Do not assume that a DirectAsia policy allows repairs at any workshop. Ask DirectAsia to confirm whether your cover requires an authorised workshop or allows your choice of repairer. We can then coordinate with an appropriate authorised workshop and help prepare the damage photographs, quotation and supporting information needed for review.

DirectAsia describes authorised workshops as the standard arrangement. Its optional My Workshop benefit offers workshop choice on eligible plans. Check whether that option is actually included in your policy.

A situation worth checking

If you are considering claiming for damage to your own car, identify your cover type and excess before accepting a repair plan. If you intend to claim against another driver, gather the other party's insurer details too: the company handling that third-party claim may not be DirectAsia.

Local help in Yishun

Backed by 47 years of hands-on experience since 1979, we explain the proposed work in plain language. Affordable, upfront quotations help you understand repair costs; they do not replace the insurer's assessment.

How we help with Direct Asia claim repairs

01

Establish the claim route

We discuss the accident, check which insurer is handling the claim and help you identify the policy and authorised-workshop instructions. For a Direct Asia own-damage claim, your own cover applies; a third-party claim follows the other insurer's process.

02

Organise the repair assessment

We work with the authorised workshop to organise damage photographs and a proposed repair scope. Assessment may reveal issues that are not visible in an initial photograph, so a preliminary estimate is not necessarily the final scope.

03

Support the submission

We help collate the quotation and repair-related supporting information for submission to Direct Asia through the appropriate authorised-workshop channel. You supply accurate incident details and complete any required declarations; the insurer reviews coverage and liability.

04

Coordinate approved work

After the necessary inspection and authorisation steps, the authorised workshop can progress the agreed repairs. We help clarify changes to the repair scope and any privately payable items before you agree to additional work.

03 / Before repairs start

Report first. Keep the evidence.

Under Singapore's Motor Claims Framework, report an accident to your insurer within 24 hours or by the next working day, including minor accidents, private settlements and incidents where you do not plan to claim. Contact the insurer for its approved reporting and towing instructions. A police report does not replace your insurer's accident report.

At the scene, prioritise safety, exchange particulars and photograph the vehicles, damage and surroundings when safe. Do not speculate about fault or authorise claim repairs before required inspections. Follow current police instructions if the incident requires a police report.

Repair enquiry checklist

  • Accident date, location and a factual description
  • Vehicle registration and insurer / policy details
  • Damage photos and other-party information
  • Accident report or claim reference, if already issued
  • Any assessment instructions and towing receipts
  • Relevant police report or supporting correspondence

Describe the situation first. Avoid sending identity documents or unnecessary personal information on WhatsApp before the appropriate document channel is confirmed.

Direct Asia claim repair FAQs

Are you an authorised Direct Asia workshop?

Our service is to work with authorised workshops on claim repairs and supporting submissions to DirectAsia (also written Direct Asia or directasia). We do not claim that Yishun Car Workshop SG itself is directly appointed by this insurer. Confirm the specific repair arrangement with your insurer before proceeding.

Is Direct Asia the same as directasia?

Yes. This page uses Direct Asia and DirectAsia to refer to the motor insurer. Share the exact insurer name and policy details shown on your documents so the authorised workshop can use the correct claim channel.

How do you help with a Direct Asia claim submission?

We help organise the repair assessment, damage photographs, quotation and repair-related supporting information with an authorised workshop. Submission channels depend on the insurer and claim type. You remain responsible for accurate accident details and any declarations or forms that require your signature.

Do I need to report the accident if I settle privately?

Yes. Under Singapore's Motor Claims Framework, report an accident to your insurer within 24 hours or by the next working day, even if damage appears minor, you settle privately or you do not intend to claim. Follow the insurer's approved reporting process; messaging our workshop is not an accident report.

What should I prepare before contacting you?

Prepare the accident date and location, vehicle registration, insurer and policy details, claim reference if available, damage photographs, other-party information and any reporting or police documents. Start by describing the incident on WhatsApp; do not send identity documents or unnecessary sensitive information until a suitable submission channel is confirmed.

Can repairs begin before an insurer's inspection?

Do not authorise claim repairs until any required inspection, documentation and insurer approval have been addressed. In a third-party claim, pre-repair inspection requirements can apply. If the car is unsafe, arrange safe recovery and ask the insurer or authorised workshop for instructions.

Will I have to pay an excess or lose my no-claim discount?

Excess, no-claim discount treatment and any uncovered costs depend on your Direct Asia policy and the circumstances of the claim. We explain the proposed repair costs; the insurer confirms how your policy applies. We cannot promise a zero-excess repair, preserved discount or successful claim.

Can you help with own-damage and third-party repair enquiries?

Yes, we can help organise repair-related information for both kinds of enquiry with authorised workshops. An own-damage claim is made under your own cover; a third-party property damage claim involves another party's insurer and liability evidence. The applicable process and permitted repairer must be checked for each.

How long will the claim repairs take?

Timing depends on the assessment, insurer review, parts availability and the authorised workshop's repair schedule. We discuss the proposed scope and available updates, but cannot guarantee a completion date or approval time before those details are confirmed.

Where is your workshop and when can I visit?

We are at 2 Yishun Industrial Street 1, #08-17 Northpoint Bizhub, Singapore 768159. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:30am–6pm and Saturday 9am–3pm; closed Sunday. WhatsApp or call +65 8986 9949 to discuss the next step before travelling.
